English: Down (southbound) fast freight passing Burton-on-Trent station. View NE from the Down island platform, towards Derby and the North: ex-Midland Derby - Birmingham - Bristol main line. On the Goods lines, Stanier 'Jubilee' 6P5F 4-6-0 45620 'North Borneo' (built 10/34, withdrawn 9/64), by 1962 has been demoted to working freight trains and is allocated to the lowly Burton Depot. Curving off right is the Moseley Branch, one of the honeycomb of branches in Burton serving the great breweries. |
