i32 W. ATLEE BURPEE & CO., PHILADELPHIA. Perennial Chrysanthemums. Perennial Chrysanthemums cross-fertilize with such wonderful variety that rarely two plants flower alike from the seed. All the colors, markings, and shapes known in Chrysanthemums, and occasionally an extremely valuable new variety, may be expected. The great prize- winning sorts shown at the Chrysanthemum shows, of which single varieties have been sold for as much as $500.00, were originally ob- tained from seed no better hybridized than this we* now seed is saved from a superb collection of the t novelties, the great incurved Japanese, the iy petaled Chinese, the graceful Anemones, the neat Pompons, etc., the most distinct types of which are shown in our illustration. The seed will germinate quickly, and the plants require only the culture given other flowers. However, that "none fear failure, careful cultural directions are ted on each packet. v'e offer this extra choice Chrysanthemum Seed, of all colors and varieties mixed, or 2 pkts. cts.

Cockscomb,âNew Dwarf Royal Purple. The past season this grand new variety again proved in our trial grounds the very best of all the improved dwarf Cockscombs. The plants are of very dwarf, compact growth ; the immense, perfect combs are of the darkest purple imaginable. Per pkt. 10 cts. New Climbing Convolvulus,âImperial Japanese. These grand new MOEXIXG Gloeies from Japan are remarkable for the large size and exquisite new colors of the flowers, with magnificent foliage, often beautifully blotched. Of strong, robust growth, the vines grow quickly to a height of twenty to thirty feet. " The surpassing charm of these Imperial Japanese Morning Glories lies in the entrancing beauty and gigantic size of the flowers; they measure from four to six inches across, and their greater substance causes them to remain open much longer than ordinary Morning Glories. The colors of the flowers, shadings, and markings are limitless, and are really wonders of nature, of such incomparable beauty that descriptions are inadequate." All colors, finest mixed, per pkt. 10 cts. New Giant Coreopsis,âGolden Glory. Golden Glory, so named by the originator, possesses the habit of growth which has made the Coreopsis lanceolala so popular, the beautiful yellow flowers being borne upon loug stems, most excellent for cutting, while they have been almost if not quite doubled in size, of richer and deeper yellow color; the petals are broader, over- lapping, and beautifully fringed. The perfect circular flowers average three and a half inches in diameter. Per pkt. 10 cts.; 3 pkts. for 25 cts. New Mammoth Cosmos,âGiants of California. This new strain of Cosmos is notable both for purity of color and the gigantic size of Us flowers. The broad petals overlap each other, producing perfectly circular flowers of splendid substance, which measure four to five inches across. The colors are pure white or delicate clear pink. The plants, five to six feet high, are one mass of feathery, fern-like foliage, studded with the mam- moth flowers long after most other plants have succumbed to the early frosts. The price of seed, either of the Giant Pure White or Giant Pink, separate, is 15 cts. per pkt., or the 2 pkts. for 25 cts.; both colors Mixed, per pkt. 10 cts., or 3 pkts. for 25 cts. New Compact Blue DELPHINIUM. jEttS3£13S£S3C5*S â ââ ââ^mm^^mm cause 0f jtg great beauty, but also owing to the scarcity of really good blue flowers. These flowers have the beautiful rich shades of true blue found in Del- phinium formosum, but are of much more graceful growth. From the delicate, deep-green foliage, but six inches high, the spikes of flowers rise six inches or more,âmaking the plants about one foot in height, and a mass of intense blue that excites great admiration. From seed planted on May 11th they were in bloom the last cf July. Per pkt. 10 cts.; 3 pkts. for 25 cts.
