Burgh Mill - the locum

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Burgh Mill - the locum Burgh Mill, timber-framed and weather-boarded, is the possibly oldest mill in the country; it was recorded in the Domesday book in 1085, and a brick built mill was erected in the 1500s, which was further enlarged in the 1790s. Parts of the brick section still remain, incorporated into the new structure, and some of the timbers bear ancient markings. The roof design is unusual in that it has five distinct gables on the western upstream side and six on the eastern downstream side. http://www.norfolkmills.co.uk/Watermills/burgh.html
