Description
English: Looking north-easterly at bundles of barrel staves awaiting shipment, Chester Basin, Nova Scotia. The making of staves is one of the chief industries of this place. On the left may be seen one of the two hotels and a part of the town, also a schooner. On the right is the prehistoric Indian refuse heap which is below high tide mark. It is on the left side of the little stream entering the basin to the left of the house.
