For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Staatsoper, Nacht ADN-ZB Katscherowski 27.9.74 Berlin: XVIII. Berliner Festtage-Eröffnung- In der festlich geschmückten Staatsoper der DDR-Hauptstadt wurden am 27.9.74 die XVIII. Berliner Festtage des Theaters und der Musik feierlich eröffnet. Das Berliner Sinfonieorchester spielte unter der Leitung seines Chefdirigenten GMD Prof. Kurt Sanderling Werke von Beethoven, Schostakowitsch und Matthus. Die Eröffnungsansprache der Festtage hielt der Minister für Kultur der DDR, Hans-Joachim Hoffmann. (siehe 33 und 35 N)
