For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Deutsch: Zentralbild/Raphael/28/6/70/ Bez. Leipzig: Festwoche zum 800jährigen Bestehen der Stadt Taucha/ Im Landkreis Leipzig scheint es auch jetzt noch Indianer zu geben, wie dieses Foto sicherlich beweisen dürfte. Aber unsere sind nicht eingewandert, sondern die Interessengemeinschaft Mandan-Indianer, die seit 1958 besteht, führte hier im Stadtbad Tänze und Geschicklichkeitsspiele vor. Bürger aus allen Berufen pflegen hier die alten indianischen Traditionen.
English: Zentralbild/Raphael/28/6/70/ 1970, District of Leipzig, city of Taucha 800 year anniversary festivity week: Leipzig counties still have some Indians, as this photo shows. These people are not immigrants, but consists of "Interessengemeinschaft Mandan-Indianer", an association founded 1958, which demonstrates dances and games at our city swimming pool. Citizens of all trades keep the old Indian traditions.
