For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild Spremberg Berlin: Die Kugelkonstruktion für den Fernsehturm wird zur Zeit aus rund 500 t Stahl von den Kollegen des VEB Stahlbau Berlin gefertigt. Die Träger der mit 30 m Durchmesser geplanten Kugel werden mit Hilfe des im Betrieb entwickelten Zweiarmigen-Unter-Pulverschweißens miteinander verbunden. Unser Foto zeigt den Stahlbauschlosser Günter Scheidt bei dieser Arbeit. Innerhalb des Komplexwettbewerbes der bauausführenden Betriebe für den Fernsehturm konnten die Kollegen des VEB Stahlbau Berlin den vorgegebenen Plan immer erfüllen.
