For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild Mihatsch 12.6.1958 Erste Vorbereitungen zum Baubeginn des neuen Abschnitts der (gestrichen: Stalinallee) Karl-Marx-Allee Am Straußberger Platz beginnen jetzt die ersten vorbereitenden Arbeiten zum Bau des neuen Abschnittes der Karl-Marx-Allee bis zum Alexanderplatz. Die Keller und Fundamente der bereits abgerissenen Häuser werden beseitigt, damit dort die geplanten Grünanlagen angelegt werden können. UBz: Werner Hartig und Horst Scheunemann vom VEB Tiefbau Berlin bei den Enttrümmerungsarbeiten am Straußberger Platz.
