For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB/Schwadten 8.5.1955 Berlin feiert den 8. Mai, den 10. Jahrestag der Befreiung vom Faschismus.
Am Nachmittag des 8. Mai 1955 fanden nach der grossen Kundgebung auf dem Marx-Engels-Platz überall in den einzelnen Stadtbezirken Volksfeste statt, so daß dieser bedeutungsvolle Tag für alle Berliner in Freude und Frohsinn ausklang. UBz: Im Stadtbezirk Berlin Weissensee starteten die Jungen Pioniere zur "Friedensstaffette ins Ferienlager 1955". - Siegerehrung am Ziel auf dem Festplatz am Weissen See. Klaus Hiller (rechts) überreicht dem stellvertretenden Mannschaftskapitän Rolf Wuttke Buchgeschenke. Sieger wurde die 10. Grundschule Berlin-Weissensee.
