For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Nöthnitzerstraße, Wohnblocks Zentralbild Braun 22.1.1955 3 Motive Zum 10. Jahrestag der Zerstörung Dresdens am 13. Februar 1955. Die sinnlose Zerstörungswut der angloamerikanischen Bomber ließ die weltberühmte Kulturstadt Dresden am 13.2.1945 in Schutt und Asche sinken. Ungebrochen in ihrem Aufbauwillen gingen die Überlebenden und die neu Hinzugezogenen großzügig von der Regierung unseres Arbeiter- und Bauernstaates unterstützt, ans Aufbauwerk und lassen Dresden modern aber in alter architektonischer Schönheit wiedererstehen. UBz: Wohnviertel der Nöthnitzstrasse.
