For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Erfurt, Barfüßerkirche, Ruine Zentralbild Klein-3.6.1955 Ra-Ho.- Schöne deutsche Heimat - Erfurt pflegt sein Kulturerbe. Für Wiederherstellungs- und Instandsetzungsarbeiten an den kirchlichen Baudenkmälern der drei Bezirke Gera, Erfurt und Suhl wurden aus staatlichen Mitteln 400.000 DM für das Jahr 1953 zur Verfügung gestellt. UBz: Die 1285 vollendete Barfüßerkirche wurde durch Bomben total zerstört. Damit ging ein kunstgeschichtliches Bauwerk mit bedeutenden Werken der Erfurter Plastik verloren. Auch diese Kirche ist für den Wiederaufbau vorgesehen.
