For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Häßler-7.12.89-Dresden: Kontraste. Überdurchschnittlich hoch ist der Verfall der Altbausubstanz in der Stadt an der Elbe. Markantes Beispiel dafür sind große Teile der Äußeren Neustadt, wie die Böhmische Straße. Eine Ursache wird in der mangelnden Werterhaltung bei überproportionalem Neubau gesehen. Auf der Stadtverordnetenversammlung am 26.10. formierte sich eine Interessengemeinschaft "innere und Äußere Neustadt", die mit einer Bestandsaufnahme der Altbaugebiete begonnen hat. Ziel ist die Entwicklung einer Konzeption zur Sanierung.
