For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Uhlemann 24.10.85 Berlin: Rangierbahnhof
Täglich rollen 1750 Güterwagen über den Ablaufberg des Rangierbahnhofes in Berlin-Pankow, die dann zu 50 Zügen mit einer maximalen Länge von 600 Metern zusammengestellt werden. Dabei unterbieten die Brigaden die 12,9 Stunden, die pro Wagen für Aufenthalt, Be- und Entladen vorgesehen sind, mit 11,1 Stunden. Die vornehmlich aus dem Norden kommenden Wagen verlassen die Hauptstadt dann wieder in Richtung Süden, unter anderem zu den Umschlagbahnhöfen Seddin, Halle und Senftenberg.
