For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Semper-Oper, Winter, Nacht ADN-ZB Häßler 9.2.85 Dresden: Semperoper - Das Opernhaus, 1871 - 78 nach einem Entwurf von Gottfried Semper errichtet, wird am 13.2.85 wieder eröffnet. Das weltberühmte Bauwerk war bei dem verheerenden Bombenangriff am 13.2.1945 auf Dresden in Schutt und Asche gesunken. Beim Wiederaufbau wurden die Fassaden, die Gottfried Semper (1803 - 1871) in Anlehnung an die Italienische Hochrenaissance schuf, wiederhergestellt und durch Seitenbühnen erweitert. (siehe 1 N und 3 - 13 )N
