For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Großottersleben, Anlegen eines Windschutzstreifens Anpflanzung des Windschutzgürtels im Bördekreis Wanzleben. Im Bördekreis Wanzleben wird nach sowjetischen Beispielen die Anpflanzung des Windschutzgürtels durchgeführt. 600.000 Wildgehölze und 10.000 Ostbäume werden gesetzt. Obergärtner Josef Ringel verpflchetete sich, die Anpflanzungsarbeiten in Grossottersleben bis zum 72. Geburtstag von Stalin zu beenden. UBz: Vorbereitungen zur Bodensprengung. Wenn der Boden sehr hart ist, werden Sprengungen vorgenommen. Durch die Sprengung wird nicht nur Zeit und Arbeitskraft eingespart, sondern auch der Boden im Umkreis von einem Meter aufgelocker.
