For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Hackenow, Blick auf das Dorf Zentralbild Klein 20.7.51 Wiederaufbauarbeiten im Oderbruch. Durch die schweren Kämpfe in den letzten Tagen des Krieges und die Hochwasserkatastrophen im Frühjahr 1947 und 1950 wurde das Oderbruchgebiet stark verwüstet. Die Wiederaufbauarbeiten und die geplante Neugestaltung des Oderbruchgebietes sind in vollem Gange. Durch die Solidaritätsaktion der Werktätigen in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik war es möglich, in den Oberkreisen zahlreiche Wohnungen und Ställe in kurzer Zeit wieder aufzubauen. UBz: Das durch den II. Weltkrieg stark zerstörte Dorf Hackenow - Kreis Seelow wird neu aufgebaut. -Blick auf die Neubauten. (siehe Bild Nr. 14N)
