For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Hans Büttner (rechts) der 1. Direktor des Hotel Adlon, wurde Mai 1945 von den Russen verhaftet, das Hotel vor seinen Augen angesteckt, und nach Buchenwald gebracht. Weil Büttner Kapitalisten beherbergte, entliessen ihn die Russen erst nach fünf Jahren. Das Bild zeigt Büttner mit dem amerikanischen Multimillionär Vanderbilt jr. vor dem Hotel Adlon 1928. |
