Description

Title: Florida, Untergang eines Dampfers

For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Original historic description: 

Ein glimpflich verlaufendes Dampferunglück an der Küste von Florida/Kalifornien!
Ein Vergnügungsdampfer mit 200 Personen an Bord wurde plötzlich leck und sank. Die Personen konnten sämtlich gerettet werden.
Unser Bild zeigt den im Sinken begriffenen Dampfer.
Mannschaften versuchen, noch einige Passagiere und Gepäckstücke auf den Rettungsbooten in Sicherheit zu bringen.
