For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Wien. Verschiebung einer Donaubrücke in Wien um zwanzig Meter. Mit einer nur eintägigen Verkehrsunterbrechung wurde in Wien dieser Tage die über den Donau-Kanal führende Brigittabrücke um 20 Meter verschoben, um den Bau einer neuen Brücke an gleicher Stelle zu ermöglichen. Zu diesem Zwecke wurden die Enden der Brücke auf Rollwagen befestigt, die auf unterlegten Schienen laufend durch Winden gezogen, die 700.000 kg. schwere Brücke an ihren neuen Platz beförderten. Die Brücke während der Verschiebung. |
