Summary
[edit]DescriptionBull Creek bottom, in Missouri Breaks, Montana.JPG |
English: Looking southeast over the bottoms where Bull Creek comes down to the Missouri. Cow Island is in the Missouri in this area. Cow Island and Bull Creek are on the Missouri, just below the mouth of Cow Creek. Cow Island was a crossing of the Missouri in ancient times, used by migrating bison and nomadic Indian groups. This is in the Missouri Breaks of Montana, and the crossing was reached by descent down Cow Creek and a steep but short (about 5 miles) climb out of the breaks, up the ravines in the bluffs pictured beyond the Missouri. |
