Title
buckleannular
Description
English: Approximately 40% of a cast copper alloy ring of Medieval date. Rings of this type have been assigned four possible functions; an annular brooch, an annular buckle, a suspension ring for a chain or a ring used in netting when hunting small game. This particular ring is too thick to be one of the netting rings. The file marks are possibly also too rough to be acceptable as a brooch. Therefore a chain link or a poorly executed buckle are the more likely functions for this object. 5mm wide, 4.1mm thick and an approximate outer diameter of 33mm.
