Title |
buckle with integral plate |
||
Description |
English: Copper alloy cast buckle with integral plate dating from 1250-1500. The buckle has trilobe shaped frame with a knop between each lobe and a tapering plate with scalloped edges. The buckle plate has two small circular perforations at the end closest to the frame. The first of these is for the pin to go through and the second would have been used for a rivet to attach the buckle to a strap. The front of the buckle has the remains of gilt decoration with a groove running along the centre. At the far end of the buckle plate there is another copper alloy rivet. The buckle weighs 2.28g and measures 35.66mm in length, 13.91mm in width and 4.08mm in thickness. |
