Title |
Buckle plate |
||
Description |
English: A cast copper-alloy fragment of a single looped buckle frame, the breaks are very worn and corroded. The strap bar is narrowed and set off with rounded knops at the end of the bar. Attached to the buckle is the rectangular buckle plate. The two plates of copper alloy still survive intact with two copper alloy rivets in situ. The plates are undecorated.
The pin is missing. The metal is a mid greyish-green colour. These buckles date from circa 1250 - 1400. |
