Buckle plate |
||
Description |
English: A buckle plate, wrought from copper alloy. The item is rectangular, with a sheered-off rivet at one end. There are traces of gilding on the obverse (c. 2%). On the obverse there is a floral decoration made up of incised lines and punch-marks. This piece has broken along the line of the hinge with the buckle frame. This artefact is in fair condition; the surface is slightly rough, with a light greyish-green colour, and brown patches. This artefact is medieval. |
