Title
Buckle plate
Description
English:

Cast copper alloy buckle plate dating to the Medieval period. The object is rectangular in plan and cross-section. One end of the object has a rectangular recess for the buckle pin and would have folded over the strap bar when complete. A linear groove borders the outer face of the object. At one end are two circular rivet holes, one of which contains a rivet. At the opposite end of the object is another central rivet hole for attachment. The rear of the object is undecorated. It has a mid-green patina. Similar examples can be found in Egan and Pritchard, (1991), p111.
