Title
Buckle plate
Description
English: A cast copper alloy rectangular buckle plate with saltire decoration of two ladders within a border frame. There are three triangular extensions on the outer edge, one of which is missing (the break is worn), and evidence of gilding to the opposite edge of the plate. There is a rounded knob on the reverse that is probably not a rivet. This buckle plate is mid greyish green in colour and can be dated to the 13th-14th Century.
