Description |
English: Copper-alloy buckle pin with a drilled circular hole for the bar and an incised groove on both sides just below the loop where the pin then narrows and is recessed and tapers to a flattened point.
Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar incised and recessed pin on a shoe buckle on page 101, no.649, which is dated from c.1690-1720. Read (1988) illustrates a similar incised pin on a shoe buckle on page 174, No.1150, which is dated from c.1720-1790. |
