Title
Buckle frame from Middle Rasen
Description
English: Copper alloy

Buckle frame fragment. Cast fragment from a buckle retaining an iron or steel spindle of estimated diameter 2mm; one length of one side of the frame and one side of the spindle housing are represented here. The frame bears decorative relief moulding of alternating saltires and diamond or rhomboid shapes. A slight curvature may suggest this to be from a light shoe buckle. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1720-1790.
