Title
Buckle frame
Description
English: An incomplete and slightly corroded Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy annular buckle (c. 1350-c. 1650).

The pin is missing.

The frame is sub-circular in plan but would have been circular prior to being damaged. It is slightly convex on the upper face and flat on the lower face. The bar is broken and is sub-square in cross-section.

This buckle has a patchy dark green patina with file marks on the lower face.

Diameter: 23.7mm; thickness: 2.9mm. Weight: 2.86g.

Similar buckles have been published (Whitehead 2003: 44-45).
