Description
English: A complete cast copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date (1300-1500).

In plan, the frame is roughly ‘D’-shaped. It is flat at the front and rear and the inside edge of the frame, but not the bar, is bevelled. The outside edge is arched and at either side of the arch there is a small rounded knop. The bar, sub-rectangular in cross-section, is slightly off-set and narrowed.

The frame is worn with traces of a mid-green patina.

24.1 x 35.4 x 2.6mm. Weight: 5.28g.
