DescriptionBuceros bicornis (female) -in tree-8.jpg |
English: Great Hornbill (Buceros bicornis) also known as Greater Indian Hornbill or Two-horned Calao in the Botanic Garden, Singapore. Photo 7 November 2005. Seen contemplating fruits in a Sea Fig tree Ficus superba. This is a much photographed escapee from the Jurong Bird Park. The tag on her right foot is the tell tale sign. Her large size indicates that she may have originally come from India as the Malaysian and Thai birds are generally smaller. |
