Description

US political cartoon. William Jennings Bryan at first says he is being abandoned by the Democratic Party for the party's refusal to go along with his "Free Silver" (silver based currency) principals, but then abandons the policies to go with the Party for political reasons.

Figures in the boat represent other prominent Democratic Party figures of the time, including "Sheehan" (William F. Sheehan, I think), Alton B. Parker, Henry G. Davis, and David Bennett Hill (with characteristic small hat with feather).
