Description
Deutsch: Brotterode liegt mitten im Thüringer Wald am Fuße des 916,5 Meter hohen Großen Inselsberg, welcher die Ortschaft um etwa 350 Meter überragt. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung des Ortes war im Jahre 1039. Im Wintersportort befindet sich ein Leistungszentrum zur Nachwuchsgewinnung für Skispringer und auf der Inselbergschanze findet jährlich ein internationales Springen statt. Zudem finden jährlich Schlittenhunderennen statt.
