Description

The Promenade in Brooklyn Heights was a short walk from my apartment on Hicks Street. The Brooklyn Bridge, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn, is in the background. Very occasionally, I walked across Brooklyn Bridge going home from work, rather than taking the subway. The Empire State Building and Pan Am Building are on the horizon.

The Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, I-287, now runs below the Promenade.
