Summary
[edit]DescriptionBronzes d'Aristide Maillol, Musée Maillol, Paris (6).jpg |
Français : Bronzes d'Aristide Maillol, salle des sculptures au 2e niveau, Musée Maillol, Paris
English: Maillol first exhibited a plaster version of Pomona at the Salon d'Automne of 1910. The Russian collector Ivan Morosoff ordered a bronze cast of the work and commissioned three other bronze statues to depict an allegory of the four seasons. The works were displayed in the four corners of his music room in his Moscow villa. Now they are in the Pushkin Museum. This photo shows later bronze casts of the same works at the Musée Maillol, Paris. From left to right they are: Flore (Flora), L'Été (Summer), Le Printemps (Spring), and Pomone (Pomona). A torso of L'Action enchaînée (originally a public monument to Louis Blanqui) is in the rear center. |
