Title
Bronze Age knife (blade section)
Description
English: Cast copper-alloy blade from a tanged knife. Mid to Late Bronze Age. Length: 104mm, width: 24.2mm, thickness: 4.0mm. The square sectioned tang tapers and is broken at the tip. The straight-sided blade is slightly bent near to the tang and broken at the end. The blade has an elliptical cross-section, with a central midrib on both sides and bevelled cutting edges (which are slightly incomplete). None of the breaks appear to be recent. The blade has a smooth light green patina, which is absent from the more pitted surface of the tang.
