Title |
Bronze Age Palstave. |
||
Description |
English: Heavily corroded cast copper alloy object, possibly a Bronze Age axe-head fragment. At one end the object has a wide curved edge, where it is 36.7mm in width and only 2.5mm thick. The object then tapers and becomes thicker before apparently being broken off, where it is 18.8mm in width and 11.8mm thick. The severe corrosion renders it extremely difficult to be sure of the original size and shape of the object, however the existing dimensions suggest that the object may be the blade end of a Bronze Age palstave. |
