Description

c/n P45 Built 1989 as a GR.5. Upgraded to a GR.5A in 1990, a GR.7 in1993, a GR.7A in 2004 and finally to GR.9A in 2008. ZD433 was one of the last Harriers to serve in Afghanistan, operating from Kandahar with 800NAS. Her mission markings include:- 4No 540lb unguided bomb, impact fusing, 6No 540lb unguided bomb, air burst fusing, 11No CRV-7 (19 rocket pod) 13No CRV-7 (6 rocket pod) Allocated to the FAA Museum after the retirement of the Harrier fleet in December 2010, although it was first delivered in error to the RAF Museum at Cosford and finally arrived at Yeovilton on 20th December 2011. Seen on display in Hall 4 as part of the ‘Cold War to Kabul’ exhibiton. Fleet Air Arm Museum RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset, UK.
