This aircraft is one of the original order of 110 AV-8As for the US Marine Corps. The Hawker Siddeley AV-8A Harrier are the first generation of the Harrier series, the first operational close-support and reconnaissance fighter aircraft with Vertical/Short Takeoff and Landing (V/STOL) capabilities, colloquially referred to as a "jump jet".Nederlands: British Aerospace AV-8A Harrier in the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum.
