Summary
[edit]DescriptionBridleway over Rebel Hill - geograph.org.uk - 1704499.jpg |
English: Bridleway over Rebel Hill Near the summit of the bridleway which leads over the moors from Hexham to Catton. It is believed that the name "Rebel Hill" refers to a vicar of Allendale, Mr. Patten, who joined young Derwentwater in the Jacobite rising of 1715 and was appointed chaplain of the little army of northerners. The masts in the distance are on Catton Beacon NY8259. |
