English: Bridleway in the Upper Dove Valley 845167: previous image - (image 6 of 10) - next image : 845178
This bridleway is part of a route from Brund in Staffordshire (behind the viewpoint) to Pilsbury in Derbyshire (ahead). It is possible that this bridleway may once have been a packhorse route. Certainly the lower section was, carrying a route from Pilsbury bridge (now a ford) to Sheen. The route from Sheen joins ahead (from the right and adjacent to the gate seen in the picture). The posts in the foreground are in place to prevent motor vehicles from accessing the route. |
