Description

The photograph depicts a large crew of men posing next to fire wagons after putting out a fire that blazed for 12 hours in the lumber yards. The Central Viaduct bridge is faintly visible behind the crew and wagons. Supplemental information reads as follows: "Fire March 1st in Fisher and Wilson lumber yards in the flats, raged for 12 hours, destroying 20 acres of yards and buildings. Bridge was out of commission for a year. Total loss over $1 million."
