| Description |
English: Brentor Southern Railway station This is the old railway station at Brentor in Devon, taken in around 1994. There were two railways here, the Southern Railway line from Lydford to Plymouth (near enough!) which ran through the station pictured here, and the Great Western line from Launceston to Plymouth. The two routes ran parallel to each other for some distance, but remained completely separate until a connection between them was established at the joint station at Lydbrook during the Second World War. The GWR line is out of shot to the right, but can be seen in Ben Brooksbank's photograph at 1973099. |
