Description
Deutsch: Südwestansicht der Pfarrkirche „Zum hl. Franziskus Seraphikus“ in Breitenfeld, ein Bezirksteil des 8. Wiener Gemeindebezirkes Josefstadt.
1840 wurde zwecks Bau einer Kirche ein Kirchenbauverein gegründet. Nach einer Ausschreibung im Jahr 1852 kam es 1886 abermals zu einer Ausschreibung. Als Sieger ging der Architekt Alexander Wielemans hervor. Erst nach weiteren 8 Jahren kam es endlich 1894 zur Grundsteinlegung. Vier Jahre später, am 18. Juni 1898, wurde die im Stil der italienischen Frührenaissance errichtete Kirche feierlich geweiht.
