Toby jug depicting a caricature head of Donald Bradman wearing the baggy green as the main vessel and a cricket bat and ball as the handle. Brown slip cast. No. 1 of a limited edition of 3,000, Bendigo Pottery, Victoria. The Donald Bradman Toby Jug was one of a limited edition series launched in 1975 designed and sculpted by cartoonist John Frith, one of Australia’s most prolific and celebrated cartoonists and artists. This series of sculptures made for Bendigo Pottery by Frith also included Albert Namatjira, Charles Kingsford Smith, Robert Menzies, Henry Lawson and Ned Kelly.
