Title
Bracelet (top)
Description
English: Copper alloy ribbed bracelet fragment, possibly from a two piece bracelet of Middle – Late Iron Age date. The bracelet has a D-shaped cross section and is decorated with wide raised bands separated by recesses containing thin bands. The underside is plain. One of the ends is expanded and is composed of two perforated lugs with a central opening. It would seem likely that this fragment contained a hinge in order to open the bracelet. The other end is corroded. The curvature on the fragment suggests an original diameter of circa 45mm, which is somewhat small for a bracelet.
