Description
English: Young boxers wall painting. Akrotiri, Room B 1, building B. This fresco depicts two naked children wearing a belt and boxing gloves. (If the fresco was correctly assembled and reconstructed.) Their head is shaved, excepted two long locks on the back, and two shorter on the forehead. Their dark skin indicates their gender. The boy at left is more reserved, and wears jewellery (bracelets, necklace) which indicates a high social status. Work from the same artist of the Antelopes fresco. 16th century BC by description in the Museum, rather 17th century BC (before the Thera explosion ca 1628 BC). National Archaeological Museum of Athens, inv. no. BE 974.26.
Čeština: Boxující děti, alias Mladí boxeři. Nástěnná malba z Akrotiri na Théře, z místnosti B 1 budovy B. Pozdní doba bronzová (LC I), podle popisky 16. století před . n. l., ale spíše 17. století před n. l. (před erupcí Théry). Národní archeologické muzeum v Athénách, inv. č. BE 974.26. Freska zobrazuje dvě děti, které mají jen pás a boxerské rukavice. (Pokud byla freska při rekonstrukci správně sestavena.) Jejich hlava je oholená, kromě dvou dlouhých pramenů vlasů na zádech a dvou kratších nad čelem. Jejich tmavá kůže naznačuje mužské pohlaví. Chlapec vlevo je rezervovanější a má náramky a náhrdelník, což naznačuje vyšší sociální postavení. Jde prý o dílo téhož umělce jak freska Antilop.
