Notes | During WW2 the Porcelain Specialties Department or 'Specials' department of Amalgamated Brick and Pipe Company (Crown Lynn) moved into the production of vitrified mugs and cereal bowls for the American armed forces in the Pacific. These were thick and heavy according to American specifications supplied to Amalgamated - the podies being putty coloured finished with an opaque white glaze. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
