Title
Bow Brooch
Description
English: Incomplete bow brooch probably of dolphin or Polden Hill type dating to the 1st century AD. The bow is plain along the survivng portion with no decoration or moulding. The bow is reduced to a thin strip at the head, which presumably would have been the spring catch. The wings survive on both ends, but are incomplete. The more complete wing has the beginnings of a collar defined by an incised line. The spring only survives on one side.
