Description
Nederlands: Nederlandse militairen in Afghanistan patrouilleerden in de zogenoemde Ground Defence Area rondom Camp Marmal in Mazar-e-Sharif. Het peloton maakt deel uit van de Multinational Force Protection Company.

In Afghanistan nemen zo’n 100 Nederlandse militairen deel aan Resolute Support. Daar trainen en adviseren de Nederlanders de Afghaanse veiligheidsdiensten. De militaire adviseurs in Mazar-e-Sharif en Kabul houden zich bezig met het verbeteren van logistiek en onderhoud. Verder richten ze zich op de positie van vrouwen, verbindingen, speciale operaties en bestrijding van criminaliteit. Normaal zijn er ongeveer 50 militairen meer uitgezonden naar Afghanistan. Ze zijn vanwege COVID-19 tijdelijk teruggehaald naar Nederland. Inmiddels vinden er in aangepaste vorm weer trainingsactiviteiten plaats.
